MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created Drifa H. Gudmundsdottir, Adrián López García de Lomana, Thejus B. , 2011 How tightly packed chromatin is thoroughly inspected for DNA damage is one of the fundamental unanswered questions in biology. In particular, the effective excision of carcinogenic lesions caused by the ultraviolet (UV) radiation of sunlight depends on ...Naegeli, H, Nina Kaczmarek, Andreas Glas, Glas, Andreas, Carell Thomas, Glas, A, Carell, Thomas, Fei Jia, Kaczmarek Nina, Glas Andreas, Jia Fei, Carell, T, Andreas Luch, Naegeli Hanspeter, Fei, Jia, Naegeli, Hanspeter, Luch Andreas, Kaczmarek, Nina, Thomas Carell, Hanspeter Naegeli, Luch, A, Luch, Andreas, Fei, J, Kaczmarek, N +23 morecore +1 more sourceLarge-Scale Structural Variation Detection in Subterranean Clover Subtypes Using Optical Mapping
Frontiers in Plant Science, 2018 We selected two genetically diverse subspecies of the Trifolium model species, subterranean clover cvs. Daliak and Yarloop. , 2013 Associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at 5p15 and multiple cancer types have been reported. We have previously shown evidence for a strong association between prostate cancer (PrCa) risk and rs2242652 at 5p15, intronic in the ...Hayes, R B, Schumacher, Fredrick, Severi, G., Berndt, S.I., FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView. The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.Julian Barth, Moritz Koch, Le‐Han Rössner, Johanna Eichhorn, Denys Pogoryelov, Matthias P.
