Subcellular specialization of multifaceted 3′end modifying nucleotidyltransferases

Current Opinion in Cell Biology, 2012
While canonical 3'end modifications of mRNAs or tRNAs are well established, recent technological advances in RNA analysis have given us a glimpse of how widespread other types of distinctive 3'end modifications appear to be. Next to alternative nuclear or cytoplasmic polyadenylation mechanisms, evidence accumulated for a variety of 3'end mono ...

Plant tRNA nucleotidyltransferase

Planta, 1978
A method for purification of tRNA nucleotidyltransferase from Lupinus luteus L. seeds on a preparative scale is presented. This involved ammonium sulfate fractionation and chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, hydroxylapatite, and QAE-Sephadex A-50. The final enzyme prepartion was apparently homogeneous and a 2000-fold purification was achieved.

COG4849 is a novel family of nucleotidyltransferases

Journal of Molecular Recognition, 2005
Only a minority of currently known protein families is characterized structurally. This makes homology-based structure modeling an essential instrument that can be viewed as the first approximation to experimental determination of protein structure. Using sequence similarity searches, we detected a distant similarity between a family of uncharacterized
