Substitutions over infinite alphabet generating (−β)-integers [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2011
This contribution is devoted to the study of positional numeration systems with negative base introduced by Ito and Sadahiro in 2009, called (−β)-expansions.

Supertasks and numeral systems [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
Physical supertasks are completed, infinite sequences of events or interactions that occur within a finite amount of time. Examples thereof have been constructed to show that infinite physical systems may violate conservation laws. It is shown in this paper that this conclusion may be critically sensitive to a selection of numeral system.

Numerical Representations of Metabolic Systems

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2020
Metabolomics is becoming a mature part of analytical chemistry as evidenced by the growing number of publications and attendees of international conferences dedicated to this topic. Yet, a systematic treatment of the fundamental structure and properties of metabolomics data is lagging behind.

On-line algorithms for multiplication and division in real and complex numeration systems [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
A positional numeration system is given by a base and by a set of digits. The base is a real or complex number $\beta$ such that $|\beta|>1$, and the digit set $A$ is a finite set of digits including $0$. Thus a number can be seen as a finite or infinite

Numeration systems and string attractors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The goal of this talk is to study the properties of some specific morphic sequences, famously related to beta representations and Dumont-Thomas numeration systems.

Dynamical directions in numeration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
International audienceWe survey definitions and properties of numeration from a dynamical point of view. That is we focuse on numeration systems, their associated compactifications, and the dynamical systems that can be naturally defined on them.

A Conjecture on Numeral Systems

open access: yesNotre Dame Journal of Formal Logic, 1997
A numeral system is an infinite sequence of different closed normal $λ$-terms intended to code the integers in $λ$-calculus. H. Barendregt has shown that if we can represent, for a numeral system, the functions : Successor, Predecessor, and Zero Test, then all total recursive functions can be represented.

Le système de numération en nawdm

open access: yesLimbaj si Context
In Nawdm language, concerning the numeration, the different ways of computing indicate different systems of operations, mainly in trade. A sum obtained by additional operation system can also be obtained by using subtraction operation system or other ...

Integers in real numeration systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
peer reviewedOur first aim is to study the generalization of the classical properties of the positional numeration systems to the real numeration system framework. Next, we study certain properties of the set of U-integers .
