Automatic sequences: from rational bases to trees [PDF]
The $n$th term of an automatic sequence is the output of a deterministic finite automaton fed with the representation of $n$ in a suitable numeration system.

Čislitel'nye v ugorskich jazykach [Numerals in the Ugric Languages] [PDF]
Hungarian, Vogul and Ostyak have inherited the majority of their elementary, i. e. uncompounded numerals and other number words not derivated by suffixation from the Uralic, Finno-Ugric and the Ugric protolanguages.

Ambiguity in the m-bonacci numeration system [PDF]
We study the properties of the function R (m) (n) defined as the number of representations of an integer n as a sum of distinct m-Bonacci numbers F (m) k, given by F i (m) =2 i-1, for i∈ { 1, 2, …, m}, F k+m (m) =F k+m-1 (m) +F k+m-2

Semantic Numeration Systems as Information Tools
We propose the concept of a semantic numeration system (SNS) as a certain class of context-based numeration methods. The development of the SNS concept required the introduction of fundamentally new concepts such as a cardinal abstract entity, a cardinal

Numeral order and the operationalization of the numerical system
Recent years have witnessed an increase in research on how numeral ordering skills relate to children’s and adults’ mathematics achievement both cross-sectionally and longitudinally. Nonetheless, it remains unknown which core competency numeral ordering tasks measure, which cognitive mechanisms underlie performance on these tasks, and why numeral ...

Addition and multiplication of beta-expansions in generalized Tribonacci base [PDF]
We study properties of β-numeration systems, where β > 1 is the real root of the polynomial x3 - mx2 - x - 1, m ∈ ℕ, m ≥ 1. We consider arithmetic operations on the set of β-integers, i.e., on the set of numbers whose greedy expansion in base β has no ...

Numeration Systems on a Regular Language [PDF]
Generalizations of linear numeration systems in which the set of natural numbers is recognizable by finite automata are obtained by describing an arbitrary infinite regular language following the lexicographic ordering. For these systems of numeration, we show that ultimately periodic sets are recognizable.

From positional representation of numbers to positional representation of vectors
To represent real m-dimensional vectors, a positional vector system given by a non-singular matrix M ∈ ℤm×m and a digit set Ɗ ⊂ ℤm is used. If m = 1, the system coincides with the well known numeration system used to represent real numbers.
