A Conjecture on Numeral Systems

open access: yesNotre Dame Journal of Formal Logic, 1997
A numeral system is an infinite sequence of different closed normal $λ$-terms intended to code the integers in $λ$-calculus. H. Barendregt has shown that if we can represent, for a numeral system, the functions : Successor, Predecessor, and Zero Test, then all total recursive functions can be represented.

Automatic sequences in rational base numeration systems (and even more) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The nth term of an automatic sequence is the output of a deterministic finite automaton fed with the representation of n in a suitable numeration system.

MINIMAL NON-INTEGER ALPHABETS ALLOWING PARALLEL ADDITION

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2018
Parallel addition, i.e., addition with limited carry propagation has been so far studied for complex bases and integer alphabets. We focus on alphabets consisting of integer combinations of powers of the base. We give necessary conditions on the alphabet

Numeracy Abilities of Reflective and Impulsive Cognitive Style Students in Solving SPLDV Problems

open access: yesEdumatica: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, 2023
Numerical ability is an important ability for students to have. This study aims to analyze students’ numeracy abilities in the matter of a two-variable linear education system (SPLDV) in terms of reflective and impulsive cognitive styles, so that the ...

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

BETA CANTOR SERIES EXPANSION AND ADMISSIBLE SEQUENCES

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2020
We introduce a numeration system, called the beta Cantor series expansion, that generalizes the classical positive and negative beta expansions by allowing non-integer bases in the Q-Cantor series expansion. In particular, we show that for a fix $\gamma \

Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...
