Tilings Generated by Ito-Sadahiro and Balanced (-ß)-numeration Systems
Let β > 1 be a cubic Pisot unit. We study forms of Thurston tilings arising from the classical β-numeration system and from the (−β)-numeration system for both the Ito-Sadahiro and balanced definition of the (−β)-transformation.

Non-Standard Numeration Systems
We study some properties of non-standard numeration systems with an irrational base ß >1, based on the so-called beta-expansions of real numbers [1]. We discuss two important properties of these systems, namely the Finiteness property, stating whether ...

Dynamical directions in numeration [PDF]
International audienceWe survey definitions and properties of numeration from a dynamical point of view. That is we focuse on numeration systems, their associated compactifications, and the dynamical systems that can be naturally defined on them.

Automatic sequences based on Parry or Bertrand numeration systems [PDF]
peer reviewedWe study the factor complexity and closure properties of automatic sequences based on Parry or Bertrand numeration systems. These automatic sequences can be viewed as generalizations of the more typical k-automatic sequences and Pisot ...

Dumont--Thomas numeration systems for $\mathbb{Z}$
We extend the well-known Dumont--Thomas numeration system to $\mathbb{Z}$ by considering two-sided periodic points of a substitution, thus allowing us to represent any integer in $\mathbb{Z}$ by a finite word (starting with $\mathtt{0}$ when nonnegative ...

Supertasks and numeral systems [PDF]
Physical supertasks are completed, infinite sequences of events or interactions that occur within a finite amount of time. Examples thereof have been constructed to show that infinite physical systems may violate conservation laws. It is shown in this paper that this conclusion may be critically sensitive to a selection of numeral system.

Numerical Representations of Metabolic Systems
Metabolomics is becoming a mature part of analytical chemistry as evidenced by the growing number of publications and attendees of international conferences dedicated to this topic. Yet, a systematic treatment of the fundamental structure and properties of metabolomics data is lagging behind.
