Uncertainty Quantification

open access: yes
Uncertainty quantification (UQ) is concerned with including and characterising uncertainties in mathematical models. Major steps include the proper description of system uncertainties, analysis and efficient quantification of uncertainties in predictions

Efficient Iterative Arbitrary High Order Methods: Adaptivity and Structure Preservation [PDF]

open access: yes
Since its introduction in the late 17th century, in the independent works of Sir Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, differential calculus has shown to be a very powerful tool for the description of natural phenomena and technological processes ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Modeling eye gaze velocity trajectories using GANs with spectral loss for enhanced fidelity

open access: yesScientific Reports
Accurate modeling of eye gaze dynamics is essential for advancement in human-computer interaction, neurological diagnostics, and cognitive research. Traditional generative models like Markov models often fail to capture the complex temporal dependencies ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Enhanced visibility graph for EEG classification

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience
Electroencephalography (EEG) holds immense potential for decoding complex brain patterns associated with cognitive states and neurological conditions. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end framework for EEG classification that integrates power spectral

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Multi-GPU Acceleration for Finite Element Analysis in Structural Mechanics

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This work evaluates the computing performance of finite element analysis in structural mechanics using modern multi-GPU systems. We can avoid the usual memory limitations when using one GPU device for many-core computing using multiple GPUs for ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
