An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Genetic Multi-Objective Optimization of Sensor Placement for SHM of Composite Structures

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Increasingly often, due to the high sensitivity level of diagnostic systems, they are also sensitive to the occurrence of a significant number of false alarms. In particular, in structural health monitoring (SHM), the problem of optimal sensor placement (

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Geometrical nonlinearity analysis of the steel network arch bridges / Plieninų tinklinių arkinių tiltų geometrinio netiesiškumo vertinimas

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2016
Arch bridges are one of the popular, oldest and graceful bridges which are being built in zones of the city and out of the city. However arches becomes especially sensitive to their buckling response due to dominated compressive force in the arch.
