2D benchmark experiments and simulations of density coupled flow problems [PDF]
Variations of fluid densities can alter flow patterns and transport processes, if solute concentration differences are high enough to cause relevant density contrasts.

Numerical experiments on one-dimensional model of turbulence [PDF]
The initial-value problem of a forced Burgers equation is numerically solved by the Fourier expansion method. It is found that its solutions finally reach a steady state of 'laminar flow' which has no randomness and is stable to disturbances.

Finite Element Error Analysis of a Viscoelastic Timoshenko Beam with Thermodiffusion Effects
In this paper, a thermomechanical problem involving a viscoelastic Timoshenko beam is analyzed from a numerical point of view. The so-called thermodiffusion effects are also included in the model. The problem is written as a linear system composed of two

Numerical experiments for turbulent flows
The aim of the work is to explore the possibilities of modelling transonic flows in the internal and external aerodynamics. Several configurations were analyzed and calculations were performed using both inviscid and viscous models of flow.

Playing with nonuniform grids [PDF]
Numerical experiments with discretization methods on nonuniform grids are presented for the convection-diffusion equation. These show that the accuracy of the discrete solution is not very well predicted by the local truncation error.

Numerical experiments and compartment fires [PDF]
Fires are complex and it is hard to derive relationships from theory in fire science. Full-scale and small-scale experiments have been used with great success in order to increase the understanding of fire chemistry and fire dynamics.

Scheduling Problem of Movie Scenes Based on Three Meta-Heuristic Algorithms
Movie scenes scheduling problem (MSSP) is the NP-hard. It refers to the process of film shooting through the reasonable sequence of film scenes to minimize the total cost of film shooting. Studying scheduling problem of this kind is based on the location

Toward a better understanding of tool wear effect through a comparison between experiments and SPH numerical modelling of machining hard materials [PDF]
The aim of this study is to improve the general understanding of tungsten carbide (WC–Co) tool wear under dry machining of the hard-to-cut titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. The chosen approach includes experimental and numerical tests.

An Improved Chicken Swarm Optimization Algorithm and its Application in Robot Path Planning
Chicken swarm optimization (CSO) algorithm is one of very effective intelligence optimization algorithms, which has good performance in solving global optimization problems (GOPs). However, the CSO algorithm performs relatively poorly in complex GOPs for
