Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Stress intensity factors computation for bending plates with extended finite element method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The modelization of bending plates with through-the-thickness cracks is investigated. We consider the Kirchhoff–Love plate model, which is valid for very thin plates.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A second order cell method for Poisson's equation

open access: yes, 2010
The Cell Method, similar to the Finite Integration Technique, is a well-established numerical method for the solution of field problems, however an often raised criticism is that it is limited to constant fields within elements.

A mathematical model and simulation results of the dynamic system railway vehicle wheel–track with a wheel flat / Dinaminės sistemos „Geležinkelių vagono ratas – kelias“ su rato iščiuoža matematinis modelis ir modeliavimo rezultatai

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2014
A mathematical model of the system Railway Vehicle Wheel–Track with a wheel flat of a wheelset has been made. The system Railway Vehicle Wheel–Track has been examined on the vertical plane. The mathematical model of the system Railway Vehicle Wheel–Track

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A numerical method for the computation of faber polynomials for starlike domains

open access: yes, 1991
We describe a simple numerical process (based on the Theodorsen method for conformal mapping ) for computing approximations to Faber polynomials for starlike ...
