Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Youth With Childhood‐Onset Lupus: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Our objective was to determine the feasibility and acceptability of the Treatment and Education Approach for Childhood‐Onset Lupus (TEACH), a six‐session cognitive behavioral intervention addressing depressive, fatigue, and pain symptoms, delivered remotely to individual youth with lupus by a trained interventionist.

Optimal numerical algorithms

Applied Numerical Mathematics, 1992
An algorithm for higher order finite difference schemes to nonlinear differential equations with the property that the numerical scheme has a group structure similar to the original problem is presented. This avoids separate verification of stability of the numerical scheme which may be very complex for usual analysis.

Wing design by numerical optimization

Aircraft Systems and Technology Meeting, 1977
A study was conducted to assess the feasibility of performing computerized wing design by numerical optimization. The design program combined a full potential, inviscid aerodynamics code with a conjugate gradient optimization algorithm. Three design problems were selected to demonstrate the design technique.

Numerical Winglet Optimization

42nd AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2004
A method is presented to optimize the orientation of a winglet on a wing and include the effects of profile drag in addition to induced drag. The method use s the output from four potential -flow solutions in the Trefftz plane well behind the lifting surfaces.

Numerical Optimization Techniques

1987
Numerical optimization techniques provide a uniquely general and versatile tool for design automation. While these methods have been developed, to a large degree, by the operations research community, research in their application to engineering problems has been extensive as well.

Optimally Stable Lagrangian Numerical Differentiation

SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1975
Approximating a derivative of a function at a point by the corresponding derivative of its interpolating polynomial is called Lagrangian numerical differentiation. In this work we describe the nodes at which to interpolate in order to minimize the error in Lagrangian numerical differentiation due to errors in the sampled values of the function.
