Non-conservative and conservative formulations of characteristics-based numerical reconstructions for incompressible flows. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An investigation of characteristics-based (CB) schemes for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in conjunction with the artificial-compressibility approach, is presented.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Nonpolynomial numerical scheme for fourth-order fractional sub-diffusion equations

open access: yes, 2017
We shall develop a high order numerical scheme for a fourth-order fractional sub-diffusion problem. Theoretical results will be established in maximum norm and it is shown that the convergence order is higher than some earlier work done.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

An implicit Keller Box numerical scheme for the solution of fractional subdiffusion equations

open access: yes, 2019
In this work, we present a new implicit numerical scheme for fractional subdiffusion equations. In this approach we use the Keller Box method [1] to spatially discretise the fractional subdiffusion equation and we use a modified L1 scheme (ML1), similar ...

Compact-Corrected MUSCL: A Flexible, Low-Cost High-Accuracy Scheme for High-Speed Flow Simulation

open access: yesAlgorithms
High-order numerical methods are essential for achieving predictive fidelity in modern computational fluid dynamics, yet many existing schemes face significant trade-offs between accuracy, robustness, and computational efficiency.
