Symmetry-Preserving Numerical Schemes [PDF]
In these lectures we review two procedures for constructing finite difference numerical schemes that preserve symmetries of differential equations. The first approach is based on Lie's infinitesimal symmetry generators, while the second method uses the novel theory of equivariant moving frames.

Numerical schemes for nonlinear predictor feedback [PDF]
Implementation is a common problem with feedback laws with distributed delays. This paper focuses on a specific aspect of the implementation problem for predictor-based feedback laws: the problem of the approximation of the predictor mapping. It is shown that the numerical approximation of the predictor mapping by means of a numerical scheme in ...

On the accuracy of invariant numerical schemes
In this paper we present a method of construction of invariant numerical schemes for partial differential equations. The resulting schemes preserve the Lie-symmetry group of the continuous equation and they are at least as accurate as the original scheme.

NUMERICAL OPTIMIZATION OF A MULTIPHYSICS CALCULATION SCHEME [PDF]
This work concerns the numerical optimization of a multiphysics calculation scheme. The considered application is a 5x5 Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) assemblies mini-core surrounded by radial and axial reflectors. The scenario adopted for the analysis is steady-state nominal conditions and fission products set to the equilibrium concentration.

gL1 Scheme for Solving a Class of Generalized Time-Fractional Diffusion Equations
In this paper, a numerical scheme based on a general temporal mesh is constructed for a generalized time-fractional diffusion problem of order α. The main idea involves the generalized linear interpolation and so we term the numerical scheme the gL1 ...
