Numerical simulation of electrocardiograms
This chapter presents a concise overview of various mathematical and numerical problems raised by the simulation of electrocardiograms (ECGs). A model for the propagation of the electrical activation in the heart and in the torso is proposed. Some of its mathematical properties are analyzed.

Numerical simulations of dwarf galaxy merger trees [PDF]
We investigate the evolution of dwarf galaxies using N -body/SPH simulations that incorporate their formation histories through merger trees constructed using the ex- tended Press-Schechter formalism.

Numerical Simulations of Radiatively-Driven Dusty Winds [PDF]
[abridged] Radiation pressure on dust grains may be an important mechanism in driving winds in a wide variety of astrophysical systems. However, the efficiency of the coupling between the radiation field and the dusty gas is poorly understood in ...

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF BOLTED CONNECTIONS [PDF]
Abstract This article presents the modeling of a complete bolted connection based on a model with one bolt connecting two or three plates. Initially, the behavior of this model with one bolt is analyzed by comparing it with existing bibliography for 3 different types of applied load: tension, shear and a combination of these two.

AGN feedback in numerical simulations
The passively evolving stellar population in elliptical galaxies (Es) provides a continuous source of fuel for accretion on the central supermassive black hole (SMBH), which is 1) extended over the entire galaxy life (but declining with cosmic time), 2 ...

Learning about compact binary merger: the interplay between numerical relativity and gravitational-wave astronomy [PDF]
Activities in data analysis and numerical simulation of gravitational waves have to date largely proceeded independently. In this work we study how waveforms obtained from numerical simulations could be effectively used within the data analysis effort to

Reliability-Oriented Design of a Solar-PV Deployments
Increasing restrictions on the emission of greenhouse gases by the standards and the European Union’s policy aims at increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix of the Member States. Subsequently, we observe a rapid increase in the

Numerical relativity simulations of binary neutron stars [PDF]
We present a new numerical relativity code designed for simulations of compact binaries involving matter. The code is an upgrade of the BAM code to include general relativistic hydrodynamics and implements state-of-the-art high-resolution-shock-capturing

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...
