Numerical stability of DeepGOPlus inference [PDF]
Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are currently among the most widely-used deep neural network (DNN) architectures available and achieve state-of-the-art performance for many problems. Originally applied to computer vision tasks, CNNs work well with any data with a spatial relationship, besides images, and have been applied to different fields ...

Bruhat Decomposition and Numerical Stability [PDF]
The authors develop an algorithm for the left Bruhat decomposition of real nonsingular \(n\times n\) matrices. Also a pivoting strategy for Bruhan decomposition is introduced and explicit relationships are derived between factors determining Gauss elimination with partial pivoting (GEPP) and Bruhat decomposition with partial pivoting (BDPP).

On the Numerical Stability of Fourier Extensions [PDF]
An effective means to approximate an analytic, nonperiodic function on a bounded interval is by using a Fourier series on a larger domain. When constructed appropriately, this so-called Fourier extension is known to converge geometrically fast in the truncation parameter.

Numerical stability of a plasma sheath [PDF]
We are interested in developing a numerical method for capturing stationary sheaths, that a plasma forms in contact with a metallic wall. This work is based on a bi-species (ion/electron) Vlasov-Ampère model proposed in [3]. The main question addressed in this work is to know how accurately classical time-dependent Vlasov-Ampère numerical schemes ...

A New Traffic System on Driver Sensitivity and Safe Distance Headway
A new macroscopic traffic system is devised that observes the transition distance between the vehicles and driver sensitivity during traffic evolution.

Reduced-Precision Chemical Kinetics in Atmospheric Models
Modelling atmospheric composition and climate change on the global scale remains a great scientific challenge. Earth system models spend up to 85% of their total required computational resources on the integration of atmospheric chemical kinetics.
