Numerical Analysis of Transmission Lines Equation by new β-method Schemes

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2017
In this paper we develop a new β-method applied to the resolution of homogeneous transmission lines. A comparison with conventional methods used for this type of problems like FDTD method or classical β-method is also given.

Designing a zero on a linear manifold, a polyhedron, and a vertex of a polyhedron. Newton methods of minimization [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2019
We consider the approaches to the construction of methods for solving four-dimensional programming problems for calculating directions for multiple minimizations of smooth functions on a set of a given set of linear equalities.

The correction to Newton's methods of optimization [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2015
An approach to the decrease of norm of the correction in Newtons methods of optimization, based on the Choleskys factorization is presented, which is based on the integration with the technique of the choice of leading element of algorithm of linear ...

A computationally efficient non‐iterative four‐parameter sine fitting method

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, 2021
A computationally efficient four‐parameter least squares (LS) sine fitting method in the time domain is presented here. Unlike the most widespread procedure defined in the relevant IEEE standard, the proposed fitting is non‐iterative. This is achieved by

A model for understanding numerical stability [PDF]

open access: yesIMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 2007
We present a model of roundoff error analysis that combines simplicity with predictive power. Though not considering all sources of roundoff within an algorithm, the model is related to a recursive roundoff error analysis and therefore capable of correctly predicting stability or instability of an algorithm. By means of nontrivial examples, such as the

Convergence-Enhanced and ANN-Accelerated Solvers for Absolute Value Problems

open access: yesAxioms
Absolute value problems of the form Ax−|x|=b, where x∈Rn is the unknown vector, b∈Rn is a given vector, and A∈Rn×n is a matrix, arise in a wide range of scientific and engineering applications.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Numerical Computation of Homogeneous Slope Stability [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Intelligence and Neuroscience, 2015
To simplify the computational process of homogeneous slope stability, improve computational accuracy, and find multiple potential slip surfaces of a complex geometric slope, this study utilized the limit equilibrium method to derive expression equations of overall and partial factors of safety.

Enhancing Authalic Latitude Calculation for the rHEALPix DGGS

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Discrete global grid systems (DGGSs) enable georeferencing spatial data directly on the surface of the ellipsoid by linking data to areal cells with unique identifiers.

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.
