Connectivity of the auditory forebrain nuclei in the Guinea Fowl (Numida meleagris)

Cell and Tissue Research, 1979
Injection of tritiated leucine and proline into the nucleus ovoidalis of the Guinea Fowl (Numida meleagris) produces terminal labeling in the palaeostriatum and in three adjacent zones (field L1-L3) of the auditory neostriatum (AN). L2, situated between L1 and L3, receives the main input and corresponds to the former field L of Rose.

Identification of Ascaridia numidae in Guinea Fowl (Numida meleagris) and Association with Elevated Mortality

Avian Diseases Digest, 2011
An outbreak of ascaridiasis occurred in 10-wk-old guinea fowl (Numida meleagris) on a commercial farm. Birds had exhibited elevated mortality (11.66%) in the previous week, as well as increased water consumption, weakness, anorexia, and stunted growth.

Tissue Stages in the Development of Ascaridia numidae from the Guinea Fowl (Numida meleagris)

The Journal of Parasitology, 1973
Larval stages of Ascaridia numidae in guinea fowls did not migrate into the liver, lungs, or other internal organs of the host. Larvae were found associated with the mucosal surface of the jejunum and ileum walls on the 4th to the 12th days of the infection by use of the Baermann technique.

Analysis of electrocardiographic parameters in helmeted guinea fowl (Numida meleagris).

Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery, 2011
The goal of this study was to describe normal electrocardiographic (ECG) patterns and values in conscious helmeted guinea fowl (Numida meleagris). Using 8 clinically healthy birds, 4 males and 4 females, standard bipolar and augmented unipolar limb lead ECGs were recorded.

Studies on the response of guinea fowls (Numida Meleagris) to antibiotics

British Poultry Science, 1988
1. The response of growing male guinea fowls to dietary supplements of oxytetracycline, Roxarsone and zinc bacitracin were investigated. 2. The antibiotics produced significant increases in body weight, efficiency of food utilisation and nitrogen retention in guinea fowls at 12 weeks of age. 3.

Acoustic Communication in the Guinea Fowl (Numida Meleagris)

1983
Similar to other forms of communication acoustic signal exchange represents a special case among behaviors, relying on instant interactions of at least two neuronal systems. It is evident that this type of interaction with alternating roles of the nervous systems as signal emitters and receivers requires particular adaptations, notably mechanisms in ...

Anatomic investigation of the lumbosacral plexus of the helmeted guinea fowl (Numida meleagris)

Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, 2020
AbstractThe study was conducted for the determination of the main nerves of the lumbosacral plexus in the helmeted guineafowl. Five helmeted guineafowls were used. Fowls were anaesthetised and the a. carotis communis was cut for blood drainage. Body cavities were revealed and were fixated with 10% formaldehyde.

Surface morphology of epididymis of Guniea fowl (Numida meleagris)

Indian Journal of Poultry Science, 2019
The study was about surface morphology of epididymis in 28 weeks old male guinea fowl. The tissue samples were fixed in Karnovsky's fluid and then processed as per the standard procedure for ultrastructural studies. Under scanning electron microscopy, the study revealed that, the epididymis was highly coiled, ductular organ, which covered by thick ...
