Scandium, yttrium and the rare earth contents of water lily (Nuphar lutea)
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1978Abstract The contents of scandium, yttrium and the rare earth elements, determined by spark source mass spectrometry, for water lily, Nuphar lutea (Willd.) Pers., from Dow Loch (Scotland) have been compared with those for the National Bureau of Standards Orchard Leaf SRM 1571 and Dow Loch sediment. In contrast to the conclusions from a recent North

Local patterns and drivers of functional traits in Nuphar lutea
2021Macrophytes are getting increasing attention because of their multiple roles in aquatic ecosystems. However, eutrophication, invasive species and habitat degradation are threatening macrophytes and freshwaters globally. In this context, the use of functional traits (FTs; i.e.

Several anti-leishmanial drugs of choice are of plant origin. Many of the available drugs against the disease are toxic and in certain cases parasite drug resistance is developed. The development of new compounds is urgently required. To determine the leishmanicidal activity of the Nuphar lutea plant extract against Leishmania major in vitro. The ...

The aquatic environment is very sensitive to the pertubations which may accompany the mining of metals. Slight alterations in the loading of chemicals in freshwater systems are frequently reflected in large changes in the transfer of contaminants to aquatic species because of the potential for bioconcentration.

Effect of 6-Benzylaminopurine on micropropagation of i>Nuphar lutea/i> as an endangered species
2021Lotus is one of the most beautiful flowers that due to its sanctity, has a special place among other flowers. Nuphar lutea is one of the most beautiful lotus species that is found in Sarab-e Niloofar Wetland, Kermanshah, west of Iran. Due to the decrease in rainfall, droughts and uncontrolled water withdrawal from the lands around Sarab-e Niloofar ...

The leaf mesophyll cells ultrastructure and pigment content of heterophyllous aquatic plants Nuphar lutea (L.) Smith. and Nymphaea alba L. are reported. The ultrastructural differences of submerged and floating leaves were determined. Submerged leaf chloroplasts are located along the periclinal cell walls.

The floral biology ofNuphar lutea subsp.macrophylla, native to Central Texas, has been investigated. The flowers are protogynous with anthesis occurring over a period of several days. Flowers are visited by a number of insects but are effectively pollinated by the beetleDonacia piscatrix Lac., which spends its entire life history in association ...

A comparison of the periphyton of Nuphar lutea and Nymphaea alba
1983The periphyton of Nuphar lutea (L.) Sm. and Nymphaea alba L., the dominating species of the vegetation of an old branch of the River Waal near Nijmegen, was studied from May until October 1981. The study evaluated the influence of the architecture of nymphaeid plants on the periphyton-composition of different plant parts.
