Nutation Motor -- a new direct-drive stepping motor for robots - [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2004. TExCRA Technical Exhibition Based., 2005
A new type of stepping motor, named nutation motor was developed. This motor has a reduction mechanism consisting of a pair of bevel gears, realizing high torque and high resolution stepping motion. Three prototypes, two pneumatic nutation motors and an electric nutation motor, were designed, developed, and tested.

Stability of disk motion on the rheological ground

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
In this paper a new mathematical model of the disk motion on the basis of the Kelvin body is constructed. Taking the hypothesis of a point contact with the drive base, a system of differential equations of the disk motion is derived in the form of ...

What does an observed quantum system reveal to its observer ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The evolution of a quantum system under observation becomes retarded or even impeded. We review this ``quantum Zeno effect'' in the light of the criticism that has been raised upon a previous attempt to demonstrate it, of later reexaminations of both the

Inertial waves in rapidly rotating flows: a dynamical systems perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An overview of recent developments in a wide variety of enclosed rapidly rotating flows is presented. Highlighted is the interplay between inertial waves, which have been predicted from linear inviscid considerations, and the viscous boundary layer ...

Optimization of Torque Models for Radial Meshing Nutation Magnetic Gears Based on the Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
In the research of nutation magnetic drive, the torque density of gears is an important index to evaluate its performance. Thus, the analysis and optimization of the magnetic torque is particularly important.

Mathematical modelling and simulation machining of CNC milling of double-arc spiral internal bevel gear with nutation drive

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2022
Abstract The machining method of double-arc spiral internal bevel gear with nutation drive-by milling cutter was proposed in this paper. The mathematical modelling of milling cutter trajectory and axial cut-off of forming milling cutter was established, the special machining tool model of bevel gear was further developed by Solidcam, the

Design and Dynamics Simulation of a New Type of Swashplate Engine

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
To extend the application of the swashplate engine from special engines to the field of general power machinery, it is necessary to considerate speed stability, dynamic balance performance and manufacturing, etc.

Active nutation controller [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
An apparatus is described for controlling nutation motion in a spinning body, comprised of an angular accelerometer with its input axis perpendicular to the spin axis of the body, a flywheel with an axis of rotation perpendicular to the axis of the ...
