Alterations and mechanistic insights of gut microbiota and its metabolites in type 2 diabetes mellitus and Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This narrative review uniquely addresses how gut microbiota‐derived metabolites mediate overlapping pathologies of insulin resistance, neuroinflammation, and amyloidogenesis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), proposing a framework for dual therapeutic targeting.

Multi‐omics analysis of gut‐organ axes reveals the high‐altitude adaptation in Tibetan chicken

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
The Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau is an extreme ecosystem subject to special climatic conditions that require unique adaptations for its inhabiting organisms. In addition to genetic characteristics, the gut microbiota of animals can regulate the environmental adaptation of their hosts through various gut–organ axes.

Maternal gut microbiota‐derived daidzein prevents osteoporosis in female offspring following prenatal prednisone exposure

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Prenatal prednisone therapy (PPT)/prenatal prednisone exposure (PPE) induces long bone dysplasia, reduced peak bone mass (PBM), and increased osteoporosis susceptibility in female offspring. Maternal gut microbiota metabolite daidzein (DAI) mediates PPE‐induced osteoporosis susceptibility in female adult offspring.

Soyasaponin and vertical microbial transmission: Maternal effect on the intestinal development and health of early chicks

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study investigates the vertical transmission of maternal microbiota in chickens and how it is modulated by maternal soyasaponin supplementation. Using a model spanning the reproductive tract, egg components, and developing chicks, we show that maternal gut and reproductive microbiota, including Bifidobacterium adolescentis (B.

Gut microbiota and tuberculosis

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This review explores the intricate relationship between gut microbiota (GM) and tuberculosis (TB). The figure illustrates the bidirectional effects between GM dynamics and TB progression, as well as the interactions between the GM and antituberculosis drugs.

Prominent Chiari Network as a Cause of Cyanosis in Infants: A Case Report and Implications for Pediatric Cardiology Practice

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
A prominent Chiari network can cause cyanosis in infants by inducing a positional right‐to‐left atrial shunt. Accurate diagnosis enabled conservative management, delaying surgery until optimal conditions. This case emphasizes the importance of echocardiographic evaluation in differentiating cyanosis mechanisms to guide appropriate treatment in ...

The Interplay of Angiogenesis and Osteogenesis in Non‐Stabilized Incomplete Tibial Fractures: A Temporal Study in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, EarlyView.
This study explores the interplay between angiogenesis and osteogenesis during bone healing in a non‐stabilized transverse fracture model. Employing micro‐CT, histology, and confocal microscopy, it identifies key temporal dynamics and molecular markers such as H type blood vessels, HIF1‐α, PDGFRB, and SLIT3.

In Vivo Study of Bone Growth Around Additively Manufactured Implants With Ti‐6Al‐4V and Bioactive Glass Powder Composites

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective osseointegration is a fundamental requirement in biomedical implant applications. Additive manufacturing allows precise control over implant geometry and material composition, enhancing implant design flexibility. Bioactive glass (BG) can substantially enhance bone binding and bioactivity; however, limited research has been conducted
