Spatial PM2.5, NO2, O3 and BC models for Western Europe - Evaluation of spatiotemporal stability.
BACKGROUND In order to investigate associations between air pollution and adverse health effects consistent fine spatial air pollution surfaces are needed across large areas to provide cohorts with comparable exposures.

Surface‐initiated photoiniferter‐mediated polymerization (SI‐PIMP) enables the controlled growth of UHMW polymer brushes with multi‐micrometer thicknesses, bridging conventional brushes and bulk‐like coatings. UHMW brushes are synthesized through a controlled/living process; they provide low friction and enhanced wear resistance under aqueous ...

Treatability of cefazolin antibiotic formulation effluent with O3 and O3/H2O2 processes
The effect of applying ozonation and perozonation to antibiotic cefazolin-Na formulation effluents were investigated in this study. Twenty minutes of ozonation at a rate of 1,500 mg/L-h was observed to remove COD by 38%, whereas a COD removal efficiency of 40% was achieved via H2O2 enhanced ozonation (same conditions + 31.25 mM H2O2).

O3/vacuum ultraviolet (VUV, ultraviolet radiation by a low pressure mercury lamp at 185 and 254 nm), O3/H2O2 and VUV processes rapidly decomposed organophosphoric acid triesters (OPEs) dissolved in distilled water as compared to simple ozonation. The O3/VUV process was the fastest of the three advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) for the decomposition ...
