High‐Entropy Ceramic‐Enhanced Deformable Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Noncontact Biomechanical and Raindrop Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A large‐area, deformable high‐entropy‐ceramic (HEC)‐doped triboelectric nanogenerator with a trilayer architecture is developed, consisting of an HEC‐doped triboelectric layer, a graphite‐like textile charge‐storage layer, and stretchable carbon black electrodes.

Statistical Computing in Information Society

open access: yesFolia Oeconomica Stetinensia, 2015
In the presence of massive data coming with high heterogeneity we need to change our statistical thinking and statistical education in order to adapt both - classical statistics and software developments that address new challenges.

Angstrom‐Scale Confined Ion Sieve and Accelerator for Efficient Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An angstrom‐scale confined ion accelerator strategy is proposed for ultra‐stable aqueous Zn anodes. Selective and precise transport of hydrated Zn(H2O)62+, Zn2+ cations, H2O molecules, and SO42− anions is achieved by in‐plane atomic Ti vacancies and angstrom‐scale interlayer free spacing within the Ti0.87O2 interfacial layer, leading to homogeneous Zn ...

Ordering of Cations in Ba(Mg1⁄3Nb2⁄3)O3 and Ba(Zn1⁄3Nb2⁄3)O3 [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1987
Abstract The ordering of B-site cations in Ba(Mg1⁄3Nb2⁄3)O3 (BMN) and Ba(Zn1⁄3Nb2⁄3)O3 (BZN) was studied from superlattice reflections in X-ray diffraction patterns. The degree of ordering in BMN increases with increasing sintering temperature.

Hydrophobic MFI‐Type Zeolites via Alkali‐Cation‐Induced Defect Healing: Implications for Adsorbent and Catalyst Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐stoichiometric amounts of Na+ or K+ enhance defect healing during Silicalite‐1 (MFI) and TS‐1 calcination by promoting Si–O–Si annealing and healing framework vacancies. The resulting defect‐free zeolites are more hydrophobic and show improved butanol/water separation and improved activity and selectivity in the epoxidation of 1‐hexene, offering a ...

Memristive Motion‐Streak Neuron for Spatiotemporal Multiple Object Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes motion‐streak neuron hardware using amorphous In–Ga–Zn–O optoelectronic memristors and dynamic memristors for spatiotemporal multiple‐object detection. The motion streak neuron array processes optical and electrical stimuli, allowing speed‐dependent filament relaxation to encode motion trajectories.

Degradation of Ortho-Toluidine in petrochemical wastewater by ozonation, UV/O3, O3/H2O2 and UV/O3/H2O2 processes

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment, 2016
AbstractIn this research, degradation of Ortho-Toluidine (OT) that is considered toxic and carcinogenic in the wastewater of petrochemical industries was investigated by advanced oxidation processes in circulating photoreactor. The effect of some operational parameters such as pH, flow rates of ozone, dosage of the OT, and concentration of hydrogen ...
