Five new INTEGRAL unidentified hard X-Ray sources uncovered by Chandra

open access: yes, 2010
The IBIS imager on board INTEGRAL, with a sensitivity better than a mCrab in deep observations and a point source location accuracy of the order of few arcminutes, has localized so far 723 hard X-ray sources in the 17--100 keV energy band, of which a ...

Use of a Cytobrush for Sampling the Ear Canal of Dogs With Otitis Externa

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 227-235, April 2026.
Cytological examination of the ear canal is essential for evaluating dogs with otitis externa (OE). The conventional sampling method uses a swab. However, the cytobrush (gynaecological cervical brush), already used for cytological collection from other anatomical sites, has not been adequately investigated for this purpose in dogs with OE.

Single Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy May Improve the Treatment Outcome of Canine Otitis Externa With Secondary Infection

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 103-110, February 2026.
Background: Otitis externa with secondary bacterial or yeast infection is a common problem in small animal practice. Cold physical plasma (CPP) has been reported to have antimicrobial activity in vitro. Results: Ears treated additionally with CPP showed lower otic scores after 21 days compared to nontreated ears, although this difference was not ...

Multiple long‐distance dispersals accompanied by reduction of body size shaped the evolutionary history of four spurges (Euphorbia) endemic to Mediterranean islands

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 178-188, January 2026.
We highlight the importance of recent long‐distance dispersals among Euphorbia species for the colonization of Mediterranean islands, followed by a drastic reduction in plant and leaf size, consistent with the island rule. Abstract Long‐distance dispersal (LDD) followed by successful colonization influences many life‐history traits and can lead to ...

A structural basis for the strain‐dependent UDP‐sugar specificity of glycosyltransferase C from the Limosilactobacillus reuteri accessory secretion system

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 81, Issue 12, Page 708-717, December 2025.
X‐ray crystal structures of glycosyltransferase C from the Limosilactobacillus reuteri 100‐23 (LrGtfC100‐23) accessory secretion system were determined in its apo form and in complexes with UDP and with UDP‐N‐acetylglucosamine, which revealed candidate residues involved in strain‐specific recognition of UDP‐sugars.
