Multi-Temporal Satellite Image Clustering for Pasture Type Mapping: An Object-Based Image Analysis Approach

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Pasture systems, typically composed of grasses, legumes, and forage crops, are vital livestock nutrition sources. The quality of these pastures depends on various factors, including species composition and growth stage, which directly impact livestock ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Semantic, Automatic Image Annotation Based On Multi-Layered Active Contours and Decision Trees

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we propose a new approach for automatic image annotation (AIA) in order to automatically and efficiently assign linguistic concepts to visual data such as digital images, based on both numeric and semantic features.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

A Comparative Analysis of Spatial Resolution Sentinel-2 and Pleiades Imagery for Mapping Urban Tree Species

open access: yesLand
Urbanization poses significant challenges to ecosystems, resources, and human well-being, necessitating sustainable planning. Urban vegetation, particularly trees, provides critical ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration, air quality improvement,

Experiments with multi-view multi-instance learning for supervised image classification

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we empirically investigate the benefits of multi-view multi-instance (MVMI) learning for supervised image classification. In multi-instance learning, examples for learning contain bags of feature vectors and thus data from different views ...
