α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

An Objective Approach to Prior Mass Functions for Discrete Parameter Spaces

open access: yes, 2015
We present a novel approach to constructing objective prior distributions for discrete pa- rameter spaces. These type of parameter spaces are particularly problematic, as it appears that common objective procedures to design prior distributions are ...

Semi-Supervised Fuzzy Clustering Based on Prior Membership

open access: yesMathematics
Traditional fuzzy clustering algorithms construct sample partition criteria solely based on similarity measures but lack an effective representation of prior membership information, which limits further improvements in clustering accuracy.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Organ‐Specific Responses to Nivolumab Plus Ipilimumab in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Multicenter, Retrospective Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine
Background Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) monotherapy elicits limited intrahepatic responses in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here, we investigate the organ‐specific objective response rate (OSORR) of nivolumab plus ipilimumab

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

3D Feature Distillation with Object-Centric Priors

open access: yes
Abstract Grounding natural language to the physical world is a ubiquitous topic with a widerange of applications in computer vision and robotics. Recently, 2D vision-languagemodels such as CLIP have been widely popularized, due to their impressivecapabilities for open-vocabulary grounding in 2D images.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
