β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Decoding anxiety: A scoping review of observable cues

open access: yesDigital Health
Background While anxiety disorders are one of the most prevalent mental diseases, they are often overlooked due to shortcomings of the existing diagnostic procedures, which predominantly rely on self-reporting.

Bayesian method for quantifying the non-Gaussian fluctuations in low-intermediate energy heavy ion collisions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
In this work, we present a model-independent method to quantify the non-Gaussian fluctuations in the observable distributions, which are assessed by the difference between the measured observable distributions and reconstructed observable distributions ...

The observable structure of persistence modules

open access: yes, 2014
In persistent topology, q-tame modules appear as a natural and large class of persistence modules indexed over the real line for which a persistence diagram is definable.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Linking cumulative carbon emissions to observable climate impacts

open access: yesEnvironmental Research: Climate
Anthropogenic CO _2 emissions are causing climate change, and impacts of climate change are already affecting every region on Earth. The purpose of this review is to investigate climate impacts that can be linked quantitatively to cumulative CO _2 ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
