Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Spirometric Indices after Bronchodilator Test in Obstructive Lung Disease

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2010
Bronchial responsiveness to bronchodilator medications is usually tested to establish reversibility of airflow obstruction. Among the various tests to establish bronchodilator response, FEV1, FEF25-75% or FEF50%, and FVC are the most widely used.

Impact of fecal microbiota transplantation on lung function and gut microbiome in an ARDS rat model: A multi-omics analysis including 16S rRNA sequencing, metabolomics, and transcriptomics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Immunopathology and Pharmacology
Objective: Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a severe pulmonary condition characterized by inflammation and lung damage, frequently resulting in poor clinical outcomes. Recent studies suggest that the gut-lung axis, mediated by gut microbiota,

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia Presenting as Obstructive Jaundice Caused by Granulocytic Sarcoma

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2007
We report a rare case of granulocytic sarcoma infiltrating the bile duct in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia. A 23-year-old man presented with jaundice and weight loss. A peripheral blood smear revealed blast cells, and the results of an examination

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Altered Lactylation Myocardial Tissue May Contribute to a More Severe Energy-Deprived State of the Tissue and Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction in HOCM

open access: yesBioengineering
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common hereditary cardiovascular disease. In general, obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM) is more closely related to severe clinical symptoms and adverse clinical outcomes.
