Zinc-rich paint coatings containing either ionic surfactant-modified or functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube-supported polypyrrole utilized to protect cold-rolled steel against corrosion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The intense anodic action of sacrificial zinc pigments ensured viable galvanic function of the highly porous liquid zinc-rich paints (ZRPs) result in deteriorated long-term corrosion resistance often accompanied by cathodic delamination phenomena. In our

Boron Nitride Nanosheets for Metal Protection

open access: yes, 2014
Although the high impermeability of graphene makes it an excellent barrier to inhibit metal oxidation and corrosion, graphene can form a galvanic cell with the underlying metal that promotes corrosion of the metal in the long term.

OCP Cold Storage Test-bed

open access: yesKIISE Transactions on Computing Practices, 2016
Cloud computing systems require a huge number of storage servers due to the growing implications of power bills, carbon emissions, and logistics of data centers. These considerations have motivated researchers to improve the energy efficiency of storage servers. Most servers use a lot of power irrespective of the amount of computing that they are doing,

Defect‐Healed Au/rGO Coating for the Corrosion Protection of PEMFC Bipolar Plates

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A defect‐healed gold/reduced graphene oxide (Au/rGO) coating is presented for stainless steel bipolar plates in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. Gold nanoparticles nucleate at graphene oxide defects, blocking corrosive ion penetration and enhancing corrosion resistance, thereby ensuring durable fuel cell operation.

Replacing fish meal by food waste in feed pellets to culture lower trophic level fish containing acceptable levels of organochlorine pesticides: Health risk assessments

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2014
The present study used food waste (collected from local hotels and restaurants) feed pellets in polyculture of low-trophic level fish [bighead (Aristichtys nobilis), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus), and mud carp (Cirrhina molitorella)] aiming at ...

Neutral‐pH Electropolymerization of Aniline on Hierarchically Porous Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Dual Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Neutral‐pH electropolymerization of aniline on laser‐induced graphene (LIG) produces stable, brush‐like polyaniline coatings without requiring acidic conditions. The resulting PANI–LIG electrodes exhibit enhanced electroactive surface area, efficient charge transfer, and dual sensing capability for β‐blockers and pH, providing a scalable platform ...
