Expressway Route Optimization by OCP
Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE, 1982The optimum curvature principle (OCP) is applied to the horizontal alignment optimization of an expressway in flat South Florida between two given points. Construction cost is the criterion optimized; any other criteria which can be quantized (e.g., environmental), can be optimized by the OCP in a similar manner.

Geotechnical Management in OCP Pipeline
Volume 1: Upstream Pipelines; Project Management; Design and Construction; Environment; Facilities Integrity Management; Operations and Maintenance; Pipeline Automation and Measurement, 2012Landslides are one of the main threats in maintaining pipeline integrity and depend directly on natural geological and geotechnical conditions. External factors such as weather, rainfall, and others, can trigger land movements and displace the pipeline.

This chapter introduces fundamental OCP interface configuration and signaling concepts using simplistic examples with accompanying explanations. Later chapters assume knowledge of concepts developed here. All timing diagram examples in this chapter and the entire book examine signals at strategic interest points to highlight specific concepts.

In tone languages, adjacent high tones are often avoided. Different languages resolve HH sequences in different ways, but different resolutions can be found even in one and the same language. In Dagaare (Gur, Niger-Congo) the possible resolutions are dissimilation, downstep, merger, or no resolution, depending on the morpholexical environment.
