MECHANOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF OCTACALCIUM PHOSPHATE AND BRUSHITE
Crystalline layer-structured octacalcium phosphate (Ca8(HPO4)2(PO4)4 5H2O, OCP) and brushite (CaHPO4 2H2O, DCPD) were mechanochemically ground. The crystalline XRD pattern of OCP was weakened with grinding and reached almost amorphously after 72 h. However, the amorphously ground OCP possessed IR spectroscopic and thermogravimetric characteristics of ...

Degradation processes of reinforced concretes by combined sulfate--phosphate attack [PDF]
A novel form of alteration due to the interaction between hydrated cement phases and sulfate and phosphate-based pollutants is described, through the characterization of concrete samples from an industrial reinforced concrete building. Decalcification of

Mechanism of Hydrolysis of Octacalcium Phosphate [PDF]
The chemical and structural properties of hydrolyzed octacalcium phosphate (OCP) appear to be of high relevance to tooth, bone and pathological bioapatites. Hydrolysis of synthetic well-crystallized OCP was studied at constant pH by using the pH stat method over the 6.1 to 8.6 range at 50°C and to a lesser extent at 37°C.
