Physico-chemical and thermochemical studies of the hydrolytic conversion of amorphous tricalcium phosphate into apatite [PDF]
The conversion of amorphous tricalcium phosphate with different hydration ratio into apatite in water at 25 °C has been studied by microcalorimetry and several physical–chemical methods.

3D‐Printed Porous Hydroxyapatite Formed via Enzymatic Mineralization
Bone combines lightness, strength, and the ability to heal, inspiring new materials design. This work introduces a room‐temperature, enzyme‐mediated 3D printing method to create porous hydroxyapatite scaffolds. The process avoids energy‐intensive sintering, preserves bioactivity, and allows control over porosity and mineralization.

Bone Regeneration Using Cotton‐Like Artificial Bone Seeded With Bone Marrow Cells
ABSTRACT Objective Autologous bone grafts using the iliac crest or fibula are considered standard treatment for jawbone defects and cleft palate, but these approaches are clinically not considered to be mild invasion, and there is a risk of complications at the donor site.

High resolution 31P NMR study of octacalcium phosphate [PDF]
We have assigned the (31)P high-resolution spectrum of octacalcium phosphate by (31)P double quantum and HETCOR spectroscopy. The (31)P peaks at -0.2, 2.0, 3.3 and 3.7 ppm are assigned to P5/P6, P3, P2/P4 and P1, respectively. Our data reveal that substantial amount of the PO(4)(3-) groups at the P2 and P4 sites have been transformed to HPO(4)(2-) in ...

Apatite occurs in many forms in nature, e.g. in teeth and geological minerals. Internally, biological apatite contains nanocrystals that are also found in synthetically prepared calcium phosphate nanoparticles which are used in biomedicine, e.g. for gene and drug delivery and for bone regeneration. Abstract Calcium phosphate is the inorganic component (
