Characterizing a Department's Transition to Intracapsular Tonsillectomy: A Mixed Methods Analysis
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView. This study evaluated a single institution's transition from total to intracapsular tonsillectomy (IT) by employing an explanatory mixed methods model. Patients undergoing IT experienced reduced rates of 30‐day emergency department visits, admissions, and secondary hemorrhage requiring return to the operating room. Five themes were identified in surgeon Erin Ling, Kelly Giroux, Ada C. Land Degradation &Development, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
In recent years, biochar has been studied for its range of applications. Recognized by the IPCC as a key Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) strategy, it also stands out as an important tool for reclaiming degraded lands, including vast global areas affected by salinity, such as those in China, India, and Australia.Juciane Vieira de Assis Freire, Darliane Cristina Soares de Souza, Larissa Fernandes da Silva, Poliana Pinheiro da Silva, Thiago Henrique Freire de Oliveira, Eulene Francisco da Silva, Bruno Caio Chaves Fernandes, Adriano Erique de Oliveira Lima, Bárbara Samartini Queiroz Alves, Daniel Valadão Silva, José Cleiton Sousa dos Santos, Frederico Ribeiro do Carmo, Rafael Leandro Fernandes Melo +12 morewiley +1 more sourceGait Adaptability Training Improves Gait in Spinocerebellar Ataxia Patients
Movement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.Abstract Background
Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) is a rare, genetic neurodegenerative movement disorder primarily affecting the cerebellum. So far, there is no available cure for SCA. However, evidence suggests that neurorehabilitation can alleviate symptoms.Colette J.M. Reniers, Martin E. Movement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.Abstract Background
Female sex is an independent fall risk factor in Parkinson's disease (PD), yet sex‐specific fall patterns remain unclear. Objectives
To compare sex‐specific fall risk and outcomes across PD, prodromal alpha‐synucleinopathy (PAS), and healthy controls (HC); estimate fall frequency across PD progression; and assess how sex modifies ...Joaquin A.
