Internuclear and Supranuclear Disorders of Eye Movement

open access: yesTürk Nöroloji Dergisi, 2009
Eye movements let us fixate on and follow a moving visual target. These movements are performed by the ocular motor system that is divided according to anatomic location into infranuclear, nuclear, internuclear, and supranuclear components.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Adjustable Plasmonic Core–Shell Nanoparticles for Personalized Color Vision Correction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a personalized solution for correcting color vision deficiency (CVD) by embedding tunable core‐shell metal nanoparticles—a common nanotechnology—into contact lenses. By customizing the nanoparticles’ optical properties to filter specific wavelengths, these lenses address individual visual impairments, enhancing color ...

An Examination of Aerosol Jet‐Printed Surface Roughness and its Impact on the Performance of High‐Frequency Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores aerosol jet‐printed (AJP) surface roughness, its effects on the performance of microwave electronics, and its process contributors. First, an electromagnetic model is vetted for AJP's unique roughness signature. Simulations are built which show process‐induced roughness is as significant as conductor resistivity in driving microwave

Vision Screening in Infants Attending Immunization Clinics in a Developing Country

open access: yesJournal of Primary Care & Community Health, 2020
Background: Vision screening in infants is an important part of the medical care of children as some eye abnormalities, if not treated in the first few months or years of life, can lead to irreversible vision loss.

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
