ABSTRACT This paper tackles one key limitation in the analysis of Iron Age communities in the Northwestern Iberian Peninsula: the limited exploration of areas beyond the fortified settlements known as castros (hillforts). The vast majority of archaeological studies have focused exclusively on the areas inside the walls of these settlements, which are ...

Genericity in Topological Dynamics
We study genericity of dynamical properties in the space of homeomorphisms of the Cantor set and in the space of subshifts of a suitably large shift space.

We compute the homology groups of transformation groupoids associated with odometers and show that certain $(\mathbb{Z}\rtimes \mathbb{Z}_{2})$-odometers give rise to counterexamples to the HK conjecture, which relates the homology of an essentially principal, minimal, ample groupoid $G$ with the K-theory of $C_{r}^{\ast }(G)$.

ABSTRACT Preliminary geophysical investigations are a cost‐effective and efficient way to screen archaeological sites and locate buried structures. Ground‐penetrating radar (GPR) is one of the most widely used methods for archaeological prospection, but in some sites, it cannot be employed effectively due to the presence of clay or other electrically ...

Research on the Integrated Navigation Technology of SINS with Couple Odometers for Land Vehicles
Autonomous and accurate acquisition of the position and azimuth of the vehicle is critical to the combat effectiveness of land-fighting vehicles. The integrated navigation system, consisting of a strap-down inertial navigation system (SINS) and odometer (

Bidirectional Trajectory Computation for Odometer-Aided Visual-Inertial SLAM [PDF]
Odometer-aided visual-inertial SLAM systems typically have a good performance for navigation of wheeled platforms, while they usually suffer from degenerate cases before the first turning. In this paper, firstly we perform an observability analysis w.r.t.

Map Room Conversations: Mapping Objects
Short Abstract This article presents reflections on a ‘Map Room Conversation’ session entitled ‘Mapping Objects’ at the RGS International Conference, 2024. The session considered the three dimensional aspects of map‐making, both the objects and methods involved with producing maps, and the construction of maps in three dimensions in the form of relief ...

Odometer of long-range sandpiles in the torus: mean behaviour and scaling limits [PDF]
In \cite{Cipriani2016}, the authors proved that with the appropriate rescaling, the odometer of the (nearest neighbours) Divisible Sandpile in the unit torus converges to the bi-Laplacian field.

On (non-)local-connectivity of some Julia sets
This article deals with the question of local connectivity of the Julia set of polynomials and rational maps.
