Human odontoblast response to tooth replantation
The European Journal of Orthodontics, 1981In order to study the main trends in matrix elaboration, and individual variations in these reactions, 55 human first premolars were extracted and replanted for a varying number of weeks, after which they were extracted and fixed for histological interpretation. The same extraction procedure was performed on 22 teeth which were included in the study to

Odontoblasts: developmental aspects
1990Histological, cytological and functional organization determine the identity of odontoblasts. These cells are most often aligned in a single layer at the periphery of the pulp. Fully differentiated odontoblasts are tall, columnar, postmitotic cells with a polarized distribution of their cytoplasmic organelles.

Odontoblasts: Vacuoles and Inclusions
Science, 1961Lipid granules have been found in the cytoplasm of odontoblasts and in the odontoblastic extensions within the dentinal tubules. It is suggested that these granules represent specific activity on the part of the normal cell as well as an increase in number after injury.
