Offset Optimization Method of Arterial Traffic Control

open access: yes, 2011
By analyzing the limitations of existed offset optimization models about arterial control system, and according to the random distribution of road travel speed, we obtain the offset optimization algorithm and optimal signal timing parameters based on ...

Regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1 by p53‐ΔNp63 crosstalk modulates the DNA damage response and therapeutic efficacy in HNSCC

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) p53 and p63 exert opposite roles on the transcription regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1. Under basal conditions, p53 levels are low and p63 represses NEAT1 expression. Upon genotoxic stress, p53 is rapidly induced, displacing p63 from the NEAT1 promoter leading to NEAT1 transcriptional activation and ...

Unique circulating miRNAome signatures captured with distinct molecular states in Lynch syndrome and sporadic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNA profiles distinguish nonmalignant Lynch syndrome from cancer‐associated Lynch syndrome, sporadic colorectal cancer, and healthy controls. Age‐stratified analysis reveals disease‐specific regulatory states, and a six‐miRNA panel shows concordant separation in an independent colorectal tissue cohort.

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.

Engineering IL‐4 resistant proinflammatory human myeloid cells for cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a scalable workflow to generate proinflammatory human myeloid cells. CRISPR/Cas9‐edited CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells were expanded and differentiated with M‐CSF. Deletion of STAT6 or STAT6/NFKB1 enhanced macrophage proinflammatory gene expression and cytokine secretion in the presence of IL‐4 while maintaining antibody ...

Optimizing tool offset in static shoulder friction stir welding of Al6061 to Ti6Al4V for enhanced joint integrity

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The precise control of tool offset in static shoulder friction stir welding (SSFSW) is vital for enhancing the mechanical properties and overall effectiveness of dissimilar metal joints.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Is Malaysia exempted from impossible trinity: empirical evidence from 1991-2009 [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) monetary policy autonomy in 1991-2009, a period of volatile capital flows, during which BNM operated under several exchange regimes: managed floating; fixed exchange rates; and fixed exchange rates with ...
