Optimization of probe-laser focal offsets for single-particle tracking
Applied Optics, 2012In optical tweezers applications, tracking a trapped particle is essential for force measurement. One of the most popular techniques for single-particle tracking is achieved by analyzing the forward and backward light pattern, scattered by the target particle trapped by a trap laser beam, of an additional probe-laser beam with different wavelength ...

Carrier Frequency Offset Tracking in the IEEE 802.16e OFDMA Uplink
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2010The IEEE 802.16e standard for nomadic wireless metropolitan area networks adopts orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) as an air interface. In these systems, residual carrier frequency offsets (CFOs) between the uplink signals and the base station local oscillator give rise to interchannel interference (ICI) as well as multiple access ...

Frequency offset tracking for MIMO OFDM systems using pilots
IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2005, 2005This paper presents an analysis of frequency offset estimation in MIMO OFDM systems. Tracking of frequency offsets is often aided by pilots transmitted in the data payload of a packet. The extension to multiple antenna OFDM systems means that spatial beamforming will occur when transmitting pilots from all antennas simultaneously, which can reduce the ...

Millimeter Wave Compressive Path Tracking with Carrier Frequency Offset
2019 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2019Compressive scanning (CS) has exhibited its potential in improving the path tracking efficiency of millimeter wave (mmWave) systems. However, its practical performance is significantly degenerated by hardware imperfections, such as carrier frequency offset (CFO).

Landslide Monitoring Using Sar Sub-Pixel Offset Tracking
2018 IEEE 4th International Forum on Research and Technology for Society and Industry (RTSI), 2018In this paper, we address large displacements monitoring using sub-pixel offset tracking. This technique, working only with the amplitude channel, can be applied in the observation of fast movements even in scarcely temporally coherent areas. The case study concerns the Slumgullion landslide (US).

Ability of adaptive filters to track carrier offsets and channel nonstationarities
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2002This paper studies the tracking performance of adaptive filters operating in the presence of two sources of nonstationarities: carrier frequency offsets and random channel variations. Both impairments are common in digital communications due to mismatches between transmitter and receiver carrier generators and channel fading.

Connected tracked robot with offset joint mechanism for multiple configurations
2010 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2010This paper describes various configurations of two connected unit crawlers. By changing the relative position of the two connected vehicle units, the overall robot comprising such a mechanism can automatically adapt to surface obstacles on the field, including complicated structures such as disaster-generated debris. In addition, we analyzed the effect

Pilot Design for Frequency Offset Tracking in MIMO OFDM Systems
2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006This paper analyses the estimation of residual frequency offset in MIMO OFDM systems using pilot subcarriers. A closed-form expression for the MSE is derived and this is used to study the pilot design problem. An orthogonal design is proposed and simulation results show that this is superior to using the same pilots on all pilot subcarriers.

Space-Based Satellite Frequency Offset Tracking Method
2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS), 2019In satellite positioning, the carrier signals of user mobile terminals and geosynchronous orbit satellites are affected by factors such as transmission distance and Doppler shift. In order to improve the positioning accuracy for the user, based on the research on the factors of transmission time and Doppler shift between satellite and aircraft, a ...
