Exposure to Molybdate Results in Metabolic Disorder: An Integrated Study of the Urine Elementome and Serum Metabolome in Mice

open access: yesToxics
The increasing use of molybdate has raised concerns about its potential toxicity in humans. However, the potential toxicity of molybdate under the current level of human exposure remains largely unknown.

IgG‐Bridging–Seeded Synergistic Aggregation of SARS‐CoV‐2 Spikes Underlies Potent Neutralization by a Low‐Affinity Antibody

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐affinity antibodies are frequently disregarded in discovery pipelines. This work reports P5‐1C8, a Class 1 SARS‐CoV‐2 antibody with weak trimer binding (KD‐to‐IC50 > 3700‐fold) yet potent neutralization of Omicron JN.1. Structural, biophysical, functional, and coarse‐grained simulations collectively demonstrate that transient inter‐spike IgG ...

Comprehensive analysis of genomic complexity in the 5’ end coding region of the DMD gene in patients of exons 1–2 duplications based on long-read sequencing

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background Dystrophinopathies are the most common X-linked inherited muscle diseases, and the disease-causing gene is DMD. Exonic duplications are a common type of pathogenic variants in the DMD gene, however, 5’ end exonic duplications containing exon 1

Rescuing Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Macrophages Prevents Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Anti‐Resorptive Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic model showing the suggested mechanism that ZA induces classical activation of macrophages by impairing mitochondrial biofunction and inhibiting mitochondrial clearance to contribute to the pathological process of BRONJ. RAPA‐loaded nanoparticles ZDPR has shown potential in alleviating BRONJ lesions as well as treating osteoporosis or ...

Single‐Cell Mitochondrial Lineage Tracing Decodes Fate Decision and Spatial Clonal Architecture in Human Hematopoietic Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study repurposes mitochondrial DNA mutations as endogenous barcodes for lineage tracing in human pluripotent stem cell‐derived organoids. Integrated with transcriptomic and spatial data, it reveals NOTCH‐mediated stromal‐progenitor crosstalk orchestrates clonal dynamics and spatial zonation during early hematopoietic development, offering a non ...

Association of age at menarche and different causes of infertility: a retrospective study of 7634 women undergoing assisted reproductive technology

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research
Background Infertility has become a world-wide public health problem. To identify women in a high-risk of infertility at an early stage when more treatments are available, early risk factors such as age at menarche (AAM) are being investigated.

Cortical Somatostatin Neurons Regulate Seizure Susceptibility via MINAR1/Gαs–cAMP Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study identifies MINAR1 as a novel regulator of cortical interneuron excitability and seizure susceptibility. MINAR1 is preferentially expressed in SST+ interneurons. Genetic ablation of MINAR1 leads to seizure hypersensitivity, reduced SST+ neuron excitability, and impaired Gαs–cAMP signaling, disrupting the E/I balance.

The impact of pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity on the birth weight of offspring born from women with polycystic ovarian syndrome

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth
Objectives The purpose of our study is to explore whether polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has an independent impact on the neonatal birth weight (BW), and whether pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity plays a mediating role on the association between PCOS ...

miR‐135a‐5p Is a Promising Target to Prevent the Glomerulosclerosis Associated with Podocyte Developmental Toxicity in Offspring Induced by Prenatal Dexamethasone Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prenatal dexamethasone exposure (PDE) programs persistent podocyte developmental injury and adult glomerulosclerosis. Mechanistically, glucocorticoid receptor (GR) binds the miR‐135a‐5p promoter and recruits the histone acetyltransferase p300, increasing promoter histone acetylation and sustaining miR‐135a‐5p expression. Elevated miR‐135a‐5p suppresses

Gut Microbiota‐Non‐Coding RNA Axis in Immune Modulation and Disease: From Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune homeostasis is indispensable for preserving organismal integrity, orchestrated through complex molecular networks encompassing immune cell dynamics, microbial cues, and epigenetic regulation. Among these, the gut microbiota‐non‐coding RNA (ncRNA) axis has recently garnered substantial attention as a multifaceted modulator of host ...
