Mechanical oil extraction

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1983
AbstractCompetitive pieces of equipment for full‐pressing and prepressing oilseeds are described. “Enhanser” machines to treat seeds before solvent extraction considerably increase the capacity of the solvent extraction system.

Extraction of cottonseed oil

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1978
It has been shown that oil of the best quality is obtained on its selective extraction by hexane. Subsequent extraction from the meal of gossypol by 70–80% aqueous, and then dry, acetone permits meal to be obtained with a light cream color containing 0.02% of free gossypol. The omission of dry acetone leads to a darkening of the meal.

Oil Extraction from Oil Cake

Journal of Karary University for Engineering and Science
In this research, the extraction of oil was done using the sunflower and peanut oil cakes by the Soxhlet extraction method and the operation continued until the oils are obtained. Five physical and chemical tests (Viscosity, Specific gravity, Refractive index, Free Fatty Acid and Peroxide Value) were performed on the extracted oils.

Extraction of oil from emulsions

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1969
Abstract The extraction of lipids from lipoproteins with ether proceeds according to unusual kinetics. The addition of small amounts of ethanol is necessary. It was shown that the same kind of phenomenon may occur when oil is extracted by petroleum ether from emulsions prepared with combinations of charged surfactants.

Kesambi oil extraction using the solvent extraction method

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
Cooking oil as a staple food is consumed by 242 million peoples in Indonesia. Increasing demand of cooking oil needs feedstocks diversification. One potential source of vegetable oil is Kesambi seeds (Schleichera oleosa). This research studied the kesambi seed extraction, by studying the effect of the solvents to the cooking oil’s quality and quantity ...
