4D‐Printed Magneto‐Plasmonic Microrobots for Programmable Spatiotemporal De‐Icing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 4D‐printing strategy is introduced to achieve programmable de‐icing devices. By aligning gold–magnetite nanofillers within a photosensitive resin, the printed structures exhibit dual magnetic and plasmonic functionalities, enabling precise spatio‐temporal ice removal through thermoplasmonic effects.

ANALYSIS OF BEARING PERFORMANCE OF HYDRODYNAMIC AND HYDROSTATIC BALL BEARINGS UNDER INTERFACE SLIP BASED ON ORIFICE THROTTLING

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2022
Due to study the influence of interfacial slip on the bearing capacity of hydrostatic and hydrostatic ball bearings with small orifice throttling, the Reynolds equation of ball bearings considering interfacial slip was established based on the linear ...

Dynamic Characteristics Study of Elastic Ring Squeeze Film Damper with Rigid–Elastic–Oil Coupled Model

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
Due to the coupling of the damper journal with the elastic ring and oil film, the elastic ring squeeze film damper (ERSFD) shows better dynamic performance in comparison with the traditional squeeze film damper (SFD). Therefore, a novel rigid–elastic–oil

Monitoring of lubricant film failure in a ball bearing using ultrasound [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A lubricant-film monitoring system for a conventional deep groove ball bearing (type 6016, shaft diameter 80 mm, ball diameter 12.7 mm) is described. A high-firequency (50 MHz) ultrasonic transducer is mounted on the static outer raceway of the bearing ...

Plain bearing stresses due to forming and oil film pressure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2009
This paper describes a methodology for assessing critical stress ranges arising in automotive plain bearings during engine operations. An industry-produced and run simulation program provides information on oil film pressure and overall bearing deformation during accelerated performance tests.

Polymer Infiltration Into SURMOF Channels Enables Hydrophobic and Solid‐Like Slippery Functional Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a polymer‐chain insertion strategy to fabricate pore‐threaded MOF thin films with precisely tuned surface chemistry and wettability. Grafting n‐alkane chains into the pillared layer Cu2(bdc)2(dabco) MOF thin film's vertical nanochannels enhances water stability, and induces hydrophobicity and lubricant‐free, solid‐like slippery behavior ...

Hydrodynamic modelling of hydrostatic magnesium extrusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Wilson’s hydrodynamic model of the hydrostatic extrusion process is extended to meet the geometry found on residual billets. The transition from inlet\ud to work zone of the process is not considered sharp as in the model of Wilson but as a rounded edge,

The application of ultrasonic NDT techniques in tribology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The use of ultrasonic reflection is emerging as a technique for studying tribological contacts. Ultrasonic waves can be transmitted non-destructively through machine components and their behaviour at an interface describes the characteristics of that ...
