Dynamic Behavior of Oil Film between Piston Ring and Cylinder Liner : Visualization of Oil Film Rupture and Measurement of Oil Film Pressure Using Simulating Rig

open access: yesJSME international journal. Ser. C, Dynamics, control, robotics, design and manufacturing, 1995
In order to clarify the behavior of oil film between a piston ring and cylinder liner, pressure measurement and visualization of oil film are carried out simultaneously using a simulation rig. In this rig, the piston ring is simulated by a straight glass bar test piece and the cylinder by a reciprocating flat plate.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Effect of Different Liner Materials on Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Oil-water Two-phase Lubricated Rolling Mill Oil Film Bearing

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
Taking the rolling mill oil film bearing as the research object, the model of oil- water two-phase flow of elastohydrodynamic lubrication is established by using with thermal effect of the Reynolds equation. The effects of three common liner materials are

Mutual influence of cross hatch angle and superficial roughness of honed surfaces on friction in ring-pack tribo-system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cylinder bore surface texture, widely produced by the honing technique, is an essential factor for a good engine performance (friction, oil consumption, running-in, wear etc.).

Elucidating the Role of Surface Ligands on the Oxidative Etching of Au Bipyramids During Photothermia Using Liquid Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

Effects of Profile Modification on Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Straight Bevel Gear

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2019
In order to solve the spur bevel gear end meshing problem, through the straight tooth bevel gear profile modification, improve the small end of the oil film carrying capacity, making the distribution of load along the width of the tooth evenly.

The thinning of the liquid layer over a probe in two-phase flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The draining of the thin water film that is formed between a two dimensional, infinite, initially flat oil-water interface and a smooth, symmetric probe, as the interface is advected by a steady and uniform flow parallel to the probe axis, is modelled ...

An in-situ synchrotron XAS methodology for surface analysis under high temperature, pressure and shear [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The complex tribochemical nature of lubricated tribological contacts is inaccessible in real time without altering their initial state. To overcome this issue, a new design of a pin-on-disc tribological apparatus was developed and combined with ...
