Abstract A new approach for ionic liquid-based enzymatic hydrolysis in situ trans-resveratrol extraction (ILEHE) from tree peony seed oil extracted residues is presented, in which enzymatic hydrolysis is used in an ionic liquid aqueous medium to enhance the trans-resveratrol yield.
