Abstract A series of experimental viscosity data for seven different North Sea oils is presented. A new corresponding states method for prediction of the viscosity of both gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon fluids has been developed. The required input is critical constants and the molecular weight of each component.

Canadian Unconventional Resources and International Petroleum Conference, 2010
Abstract Foamy oil viscosity is a controversial topic among researchers as to what happens to the apparent oil viscosity when the dispersed gas bubbles start migrating with the oil. For conventional oils, below the true bubble point pressure, the oil viscosity increases as the gas freely evolves from the oil.

Characteristics of Compatability of High-Viscosity Oils
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2015© 2015 Springer Science+Business Media New York. The physicochemical properties (density, viscosity, precipitation resistance of sphaltenes) of blends of high-viscosity oils from Permian deposits (Ashal'cha field) with arboniferous oils from the Yamashi field (Tatarstan) are studied. It is demonstrated that when high-viscosity oils are blended, various

Effect of Silicone Oil Viscosity on Emulsification
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1987Emulsification of intravitreal silicone oil has been observed as a late complication after its use as a retinal tamponade. We compared the emulsification potential of silicone oil of different viscosities (100 centistokes [cs], 1000 cs, and 12,500 cs) and molecular composition in an in vitro model using a commercial detergent (benzalkonium chloride ...

This chapter is devoted to monitoring the oil viscosity as one of the major physicochemical factors of quality and efficiency of oil. The review of methods of monitoring the oil viscosity presented in the chapter shows that at present, portable viscometers requiring periodic sampling of oil are widely applied; however real-time on-line monitoring is ...
