Heritability and Correlations of Agronomic and Fiber Traits in an Okra‐Leaf Upland Cotton Population
Crop Science, 2006In cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.), the cost and time to develop and evaluate appropriate genetic populations have limited the number of intensive and complete heritability studies. Herein, three agronomic and 17 fiber quality traits were assessed for heritability and correlation analyses on progeny rows in an okra‐leaf cotton population of 208 families.

Abstract This research develops sustainable, high-performance biocomposites by reinforcing polylactic acid (PLA) with natural okra fiber and silica nanoparticles. Composites were fabricated with varying weight percentages of okra fiber (20 wt%, 30 wt%, and 40 wt%) and further enhanced with silica nanoparticles ...

In this study, bast fibers have been obtained from okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) plant stems via biological degumming process. The obtained fibers were subjected to some textile pretreatment processes such as scouring, alkalizing, oxygen bleaching and chlorine bleaching which are also utilized in cellulose nanoparticle production.
