Pneumonia in the Older People.
老人性肺炎は不顕性誤嚥で生じる. 不顕性誤嚥は嚥下反射と咳反射の低下で生じる. 両反射はサブスタンスPが気管や咽頭に少ないことによる. サブスタンスPの少ないのは大脳基底核の血管障害によりドーパミンが少ないためである. 以上より, 老人性肺炎の予防には (1) ドーパミンを投与する. (2) サブスタンスPを放出させるカプサイシンを投与する. (3) ACE阻害剤によりサブスタンスPを上昇させることが効果があることが判明した. ACE阻害剤 (タナトリル(R)) により老人性肺炎の発生は1/3に減少させえた.
