A bis-calixarene from olefin metathesis
A ring-closing olefin metathesis reaction of tetrakis(allyloxy)calix[4]arene gave the bis calixarene, (15E,40E,60E)-65,74-bis(prop-2-en-1-yloxy)-13,18,38,43,58,63-hexaoxadodecacyclo[28.26.8.720,36.111,45.151,55.05,57.07,12.019,24.026,64.032,37.044,49.168,

(Poly)Borylated Species as Modern Reactive Groups toward Unusual Synthetic Applications
In this review, we spotlight recent breakthroughs in α‐polyboron‐substituted carbon‐centered intermediates (carbanion, carbocation, radical, and carbene) and polyborylated alkenes. By bridging fundamental reactivity with the application potential of these extraordinary species, we hope this review will serve as a roadmap for harnessing these unique ...

Unsolvated Grignard reagents with WCl6 are effective cocatalysts in the olefin metathesis. Activity of WCl6-BuMgI in benzene medium is comparable with those derived from BuLi. The optimum ratio of BuMgI to WCl6 was 2.0, and products of Friedel-Crafts reaction were less than 3% when the ratio was more than 1.5.

Kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents
The process of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents was examined by kinetic studies and quantum chemical calculations. Abstract The kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene initiated by sec‐butyllithium were examined in saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon solvents, i.e. cyclohexane, cyclohexene, 4‐vinylcyclohexene and dl‐

Coordination of a Lewis base switches an electron‐accepting tricoordinate boron center into an electron‐donating tetracoordinate one. An alkenyl‐strapped diphenylthienylboryl π‐system undergoes phosphine‐induced reversible π‐umpolung, where transformation from an acceptor–acceptor–acceptor framework to a donor–acceptor–donor system gives rise to ...
