Oleuropein-Laded Ufasomes Improve the Nutraceutical Efficacy

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Ufasomes are unsaturated fatty acid liposomes made up of oleic and linoleic acids, natural components required in various biological processes. This kind of nanocarrier is characterized by a simple and dynamic structure and is able to improve the bioavailability of unsaturated fatty acids.

Phenolic Profiling of Olive (Olea europaea L. cv. Nocellara Messinese) Samples by Comprehensive 2D Liquid Chromatography

open access: yesChemFoodChem, Volume 2, Issue 1, March 2026.
Comprehensive RP‐LC×RP‐LC‐PDA‐MS/MS profiling reveals 52 phenolic compounds across olive drupes, leaves, pomace, and extra virgin olive oil, highlighting matrix‐specific distribution patterns. Oleuropein derivatives dominate drupes, while flavonoids are enriched in leaves.

Olive oil's bitter principle reverses acquired autoresistance to trastuzumab (Herceptin™) in HER2-overexpressing breast cancer cells

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2007
Background A low incidence of breast cancer in the Mediterranean basin suggests that a high consumption of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) might confer this benefit.

Oleuropein overrides liver damage in steatotic mice

open access: yesJournal of Functional Foods, 2020
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common disease in which oxidative stress plays a main role in causing organ damage. Oleuropein (Ole) is a phenolic compound with both significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The aim of the present work has been focused on investigating the mechanisms by which Ole is able to improve liver ...

Phytochemical Profiling and Characterization of Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and Galia Melon Peel Extracts for Potential Prebiotic Activities

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Bioactive compounds are recovered from Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and Galia melon peels through aqueous and ethanolic extraction followed by freeze‐drying. The resulting extracts undergo comprehensive characterization using HPLC, FTIR, and NMR spectroscopy to define their chemical profiles.

The anti-infarct, antistunning and antiarrhythmic effects of oleuropein in isolated rat heart [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Previous studies have reported that oleuropein, the major constituent of olive leaves, has cardioprotective effects. There is no report related to oleuropein and ischemic-reperfusion injuries (cardiac dysfunction and myocardial infarction) as well as ...
