The Relationship of Estrogen Changes With Sinonasal Symptoms and Disease in Women: A Scoping Review
The purpose of this scoping review was to assess the existing epidemiologic literature looking at the relationship of estrogen on sinonasal symptoms in women. PubMed and Embase were searched and 57 articles were chosen for analysis. Overall, the literature is heterogeneous but limited and so estrogen as mediator in sinonasal disease is an important ...

Murid herpesvirus-4 (MuHV-4), a natural gammaherpesvirus of rodents, can infect the mouse through the nasal mucosa, where it targets sustentacular cells and olfactory neurons in the olfactory epithelium before it propagates to myeloid cells and then to B

THE EFFECT OF ETHER AND CHLOROFORM ON THE OLFACTORY EPITHELIUM
By applying ether or chloroform vapour for various durations, the electrical activity of the olfactory epithelium, and the movement and length of the olfactory cilia were studied in the frog.1. The destructive effects of ether and chloroform vapours were found in the olfactory epithelium only when these anaesthetics were applied for longer than a ...

Intranasal pH and Olfactory Function Among Healthy Adults
In this cross‐sectional study of 62 adults, olfactory cleft (OC) pH was lower than that over the respiratory mucosa (RM), with repeated testing resulting in more alkaline pH and olfactory testing having no effect. OC pH, but not RM pH, was negatively correlated with odor identification scores and predicted 18% of the variance in these scores.
