Introversion-Extraversion and Dimensions of Olfactory Perception
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1987A possible relationship between odor perception and introversion-extraversion was explored. 195 subjects completed Eysenck's Introversion-Extraversion Scale and rated strength, familiarity, and pleasantness of four odors. Zero-order correlations were examined and the data were factor analyzed.

Modulation of Olfactory Perception
2016In “Modulation of olfactory perception”, Keller reviews the flow of information from other parts of the mind toward olfaction. There is substantial input into the olfactory system from both cognitive processes, a phenomenon known as cognitive penetration of perception, and from other perceptual systems.

Early olfactory computations and perception
The FASEB Journal, 2007In this talk I will present an overview of the olfactory bulb network from a computational point of view. I will discuss the functionality of the different types of neurons, the networks they form with respect to computing stable, context independent representations of olfactory stimuli.

Olfactory perception, cognition, and dysfunction in humans
WIREs Cognitive Science, 2013AbstractThe main functions of olfaction relate to finding food, avoiding predators and disease, and social communication. Its role in detecting food has resulted in a unique dual mode sensory system. Environmental odorants are ‘smelled’ via the external nostrils, while volatile chemicals in food—detected by the same receptors—arrive via the nasopharynx,
