Therapies in Refractory Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesSociété Internationale d’Urologie Journal, 2022
As the therapeutic landscape for metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mccRCC) expands to include vascular endothelial growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR TKIs) and immunotherapies, new challenges are in place for evaluating ...

Management of one patient with oligoprogressive thyroid cancer during treatment with lenvatinib

open access: yes, 2019
Recent thyroid cancer guidelines found it reasonable to use local therapies during treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in selected patients with oligoprogressive disease, namely, in the presence of a single progressing lesion in an otherwise

Oligoprogression in Metastatic, Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer—Prevalence and Current Clinical Practice

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
AimsOligoprogression is poorly defined in current literature. Little is known about the natural history and significance of oligoprogression in patients with hormone-resistant prostate cancer on abiraterone or enzalutamide treatment [termed androgen ...

A new perspective on cancer treatment: the interaction and application prospect between ICIs and radiotherapy

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 184-191, June 2026.
The combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and radiotherapy synergistically enhances efficacy through an “antigen release‐immune activation” closed‐loop mechanism, significantly improving outcomes in solid tumors (e.g., lung cancer, melanoma).

Treatment strategies based on different oligoprogressive patterns after immunotherapy failure in metastatic NSCLC

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, 2023
Background: Oligoprogressive disease is recognized as the overall umbrella term; however, a small number of progressions on imaging can represent different clinical scenarios. This study aims to explore the optimal treatment strategy after immunotherapy (

First‐Line Alectinib Versus Ceritinib With or Without Brain Radiotherapy in ALK‐Positive Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer with Brain Metastases: A Real‐World Multicenter Study from Vietnam

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 12, June 2026.
Alectinib demonstrated superior intracranial disease control and systemic efficacy compared with ceritinib in Vietnamese patients with ALK‐positive NSCLC and brain metastases. Upfront brain radiotherapy appeared to provide greater benefit when combined with ceritinib than with alectinib (exploratory, interaction p > 0.6).

Stereotactic body radiotherapy for oligoprogressive lesions in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer patients during abiraterone/enzalutamide treatment

open access: yes, 2021
Background Metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) utilizing stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for oligoprogressive lesions could provide a delay in next-line systemic treatment (NEST) change while undergoing androgen receptor-targeted agents (ARTA ...

Fruquintinib Plus TAS‐102 With or Without SBRT as Third‐ Or Later‐Line Therapy for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer: Preliminary Results From a Prospective Phase II Trial

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Both fruquintinib and TAS‐102 monotherapies are guideline‐recommended for third‐line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). This study aimed to analyze the preliminary outcomes of fruquintinib combined with TAS‐102, with or without stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), as a third‐ or later‐line therapy for mCRC.

Outcome and toxicity of hypofractionated image-guided SABR for spinal oligometastases

open access: yesClinical and Translational Radiation Oncology, 2020
Background: To investigate progression free survival (PFS), local control (LC) and overall survival (OS) outcomes for patients treated with spine hypofractionated stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and to evaluate possible predictors of rapid ...

Mixed response to osimertinib and the beneficial effects of additional local therapy

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2019
Background Although non‐small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) harboring EGFR mutations initially respond well to EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), they typically progress after approximately one year.
